Dieses Großhandel ätherische Öl aus reinem Weihrauch wird aus dem Harz des Boswellia carterii-Baums der Familie der Burseraceae dampfdestilliert und ist auch als Olibanum bekannt. Das Wort leitet sich vom französischen Franken ab und bedeutet üppig und war neben Myrrhe der erste Kaugummi, der als verwendet wurde Weihrauch. Der Baum ist im Nahen Osten beheimatet und soll in der natürlichen Bonsai-Formation in diesem ausgedörrten Land existieren. Weihrauch soll die Göttlichkeit symbolisieren. Dieses Öl ist aufgrund seiner beruhigenden Eigenschaften das beliebteste in der Aromatherapie.

Es soll helfen, Wunden zu heilen und Narben vorzubeugen. Es wird verwendet, um das Gesicht zu straffen, Falten zu entfernen und Dehnungsstreifen in kosmetischen Produkten zu vermeiden. Ätherisches Weihrauchöl wurde verwendet, um Angstzustände, Stress, Asthma, Bronchitis, Kehlkopfentzündung und schlechten Husten zu lindern. Es ist ein allgemeines Tonikum für die Gebärmutter, wirkt beruhigend während der Wehen und hilft bei starker Menstruation. Es ist am nützlichsten während der Meditation. Vermeiden Sie während der Schwangerschaft.

Die alten Ägypter verbrannten Weihrauch als heiligen Weihrauch und verwendeten ihn als Gesichtsmaske. Sie mahlen das verbrannte Harz zu einem Pulver namens Kohl, mit dem die Augen hervorgehoben werden. Kohlgesäumte Augen sind in der ägyptischen Kunst weit verbreitet. Die früheste Aufzeichnung des Weihrauchgebrauchs wurde in einer Grabinschrift der ägyptischen Königin Hatschepsut aus dem 15. Jahrhundert vor Christus gefunden.
