Ylang Ylang bedeutet „Blume der Blumen“ und wird seit Jahrhunderten in tropischen Gebieten Asiens verwendet, darunter auf den Philippinen, in Indonesien und auf den polynesischen Inseln. Die Blumen wurden und werden in Indonesien aufgrund ihrer aufheiternden und aphrodisierenden Eigenschaften traditionell verwendet, um das Bett frisch verheirateter Paare in ihrer Hochzeitsnacht zu schmücken.

Ylang Ylang ist bekannt für seine stimmungsaufhellenden, beruhigenden, antidepressiven, verschönernden und aphrodisierenden Eigenschaften. Es wirkt sich positiv auf das Immunsystem, das Herz-Kreislauf-System und das endokrine System aus, entspannt den Körper und befreit den Geist von negativen Emotionen. Ylang-Ylang-Öl wird auch verwendet, um Schmerzen zu lindern, Entzündungen zu reduzieren, die Stimmung zu verbessern und die Libido zu steigern.

Darüber hinaus soll ätherisches Ylang-Ylang-Öl als natürliches Insektenschutzmittel wirken, die Wundheilung fördern und das Erscheinungsbild von Narben verringern, wenn es auf die Haut aufgetragen wird.
